Ever feel bored with what you are eating? You are not alone. Even the most creative among us sometimes fall into a slump regarding what we make. If you are interested in boosting your daily nutrition with healthy alternatives, then you are in luck. You may want to consider our following list of delicious smoothies. Designed to be both delicious and healthy. Each recipe has its own benefits to help satisfy those naughty cravings, while also providing the right kind of nutrients to help tone muscle and lose weight.
1. Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie
It doesn’t get much better than a chocolate strawberry smoothie. With that in mind, we begin our list of 3 weight loss smoothie recipes with one that is sure to please. The chocolate strawberry smoothie blast uses a small hand-full of chocolate, a cup of strawberries, 30 grams of Optimum Nutrition 100% whey (or alternatively a 30 gram scoop from one of these whey supplements) and 2 table spoons of chia seeds, to create something that is truly out of this world. What you get when you blend all of these ingredients, is a ton of flavor without the same calories that you would get with a milkshake or something far heavier. Give it a try and see for yourself!
2. Green Blast
While chocolate strawberry smoothie has a lot of flavor, green blast provides an equal measure of nutrition. Made with a blend of half a cup of spinach, a hand full of white beans, ice, and a cup of soy milk, you get a significant amount of iron in a creamy and sweet combination. If you need to substitute a meal with a smoothie, then go with the Green Blast. Along with reducing the amount of calories you are consuming, you get a nutritious and tasty meal that you can take with you on the go.
3. Berry Beets
A combination of several different kinds of berries along with beets, you get a lot of flavor, a lot of nutrition, and very little in terms of calories. Helping you to look good on the outside, the berry beets smoothie is another great thing to take with you on the road. It is great for those who love sweeter things, and its natural ingredients help to cleanse and beautify your skin. Consider one of these a week and be amazed at how filling and beneficial it is for you. Simply take half a cup of frozen blue berries mixed with raspberries, 3 slices of beetroot, a cup of ice and a cup of almond milk. Blend for 30 seconds and enjoy!
Along with these three that we prefer the most, there are many that were very close to making the list but just fell a little short. Some popular runners up include Papaya ginger smoothies, ginger and berry smoothies with oats, banana kale smoothies, Mood boosting blueberry smoothies, and vanilla spinach smoothies. Do yourself a favor and experiment a little with these ingredients and you will be amazed at what you can come up with.

Pancakes can be made with chocolate and be good for you at the same time. Just try this recipe and you’ll see what I mean. What makes them healthy is the whole wheat flour and the absence of sugar. The banana is there to replace the sugar with its natural sweetness. Try to find low-fat white chocolate chips and serve with berries (blueberries or raspberries). This is one of the best pancake recipes out there!
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 ripe bananas
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
3 tablespoons butter, for greasing
1 cup raspberries
Instructions
Mash the bananas. Whisk them together with the eggs and milk. Add the wet mix to the flour and salt. Mash the raspberries a bit and add them into the mix. At the end, add the white chocolate chips. Stir everything well, but leave a little lumpy.
Grease a non-sticking pan with some butter and heat it over medium heat. Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter on the pan for each pancake. Cook the pancake until bubbles appear on the surface. Turn and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes.
Serve with raspberries and white chocolate chips on top.

Celebrities love baking, or at least that’s what it looks like from their Instagram feeds. Former party lovers, whose feeds used to be filled with selfies and red carpet photos now post pics of their perfect home-made treats. And they make them pretty well. You can find various desserts, from cakes like Kelly Brook’s Easter creation to beautifully decorated cupcakes Kourtney Kardashian-style. Let’s not forget the banana bread.
Celebrity Banana Bread Recipes
I am a banana bread fan and I have made like a hundred versions of banana bread. This has become my obsession ever since I downloaded the cooking app MyGreatRecipes and discovered its banana bread recipe collection. Some time ago (I was bored a little bit) I searched the internet to find out what kind of desserts celebrities like (and bake). Turns out they do create their own sweet delights and what caught my eye in particular was Rachel Zoe’s banana bread recipe. I thought to myself “A woman with such style can’t go wrong with styling ingredients in a dessert.” That’s how I came up with the idea to recreate celebrity banana bread recipes by using the most similar banana bread option from my fav app. Here are my two best banana loafs, as made by famous people.
Rachel Zoe’s Banana Bread
The celebrity stylist and designer confessed that she loves baking, especially during the award season because it calms her nerves. I found this banana bread recipe on her Instagram feed. It is visible that it contains chocolate chips, so here is my version of it:
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup unsalted butter
2 eggs
4 teaspoons milk
3-4 over ripe bananas
1 cup chocolate chips
The best thing about banana bread is that all you need to do is mix the ingredients. Start by mixing the butter and sugar, then add milk, eggs and banana and at the end add the flour and baking soda. The chocolate chips are incorporated at the end and stirred manually (no mixer needed). Let the oven do the rest. Bake for about 45 minutes. Use a toothpick to check whether the loaf is done. If it comes out clean, you’re good to go.
Stanley Tucci’s Banana Bread
The actor said that this recipe is from his late wife Kate and called it Kate’s Banana Bread in her honor. He remembers how she used to make this loaf for their family and friends and everyone loved it. The recipe originally calls for Grape-nuts cereal but I made it with fresh grapes and pecans.
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ cup castor sugar
pinch of salt
½ cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup mixed green and red grapes
1 cup chopped pecans
Follow the procedure laid down for the chocolate chips recipe above. Fold the grapes in the batter at the end. The grapes will look like precious gems in the baked bread. The loaf will also get extra sweetness from the grapes and they make perfect combination with any kind of nuts. Cook’s verdict: I liked both recipes, the first being a more classic version of the banana loaf, whereas the second was an opportunity for me to use grapes in a banana bread for the first time. I couldn’t decide so I let my family make the decision for me. They ruled on the Kate’s banana bread to my surprise. I expected they would be in favor of the chocolatey treat

If you’ve watched the Sponge Bob, you probably remember this phrase. (I have tons of dub smash videos impersonating the sponge bob chocolate guy). Ok, maybe not something to brag with But it is probably the best way to emphasize how much I love chocolate, (Ok the sponge bob guy is angry) I get excited by the mere mention of the word, but you get the analogy.
Chocolate Pancakes
The internet is filled with chocolate recipes, and oftentimes when I am too tired to cook I just browse around to get some ideas for my next chocolate meal. On a late summer night I was doing my nights research when I stumbled across http://cuterecipes.com/ …Oh my God, there were so many mouthwatering recipes in one place. To be honest sometimes I get dizzy from scrolling, so I’ve decided to search meals by category, and since lately I have been hooked on pancakes, I decided to narrow my search down to pancakes. And boy was I right to do this, the best American pancake collection abounds with tasty recipes including my favorite chocolate ones!

The Chocolate Pancakes with Chocolate Sauce, Strawberries and Bananas are definitely on the top of my list (for now). What I loved was the sweetness of the chocolate that pairs perfectly together with that sweet and savory strawberry taste, and for some extra savory touch I replaced the banana for raspberries. A mouthful of happiness is what I call it! I haven’t enjoyed in a meal like this in a while.
Double chocolate, double the trouble… Or not? Well it depends. If you are referring to my stomach ache after I’ve finished eating a dozen of these pancakes then it is a trouble….But if you were thinking of going to the trouble of making them, as in the difficulty level of preparation, you, my friends are mistaken. This recipe makes use of cake mix, so the only thing you have to do is just stir everything together, make a batch, cook it and eat some pancakes. Yes, that easy!
While at the double chocolate pancakes theme, it would be unfair if I didn’t share the next recipe with you…If you are a Reese’s enthusiast, like I am, then you will definitely love the Reese’s syrup and double chocolate pancakes recipe. Reese’s are the main star of the chocolate syrup, but you can always add some more on top, which makes this recipe, the perfect one for anyone who loves these peanut butter cups.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading these recipes, what I hope even more, is that I have given you some new ideas for your next chocolate inspired pancake recipe.

You girls all remember the time when pink was your favorite color, right? I mean, there is no girl in the world (ok, maybe two or three) that did not find this color the fairest of them all for at least a period in her life. My daughter is two and she is absolutely assured that this is the best color for her dresses, toys, bed sheets and all. I was even forced to promise that her very own room will have pink walls, curtains and carpets. I am about to start redecorating it but I find the idea of a totally pink room a bit creepy. But that’s just me.
Pink Pancakes
I am aware of the fact that this pink obsession has just begun. We buy pink things wherever we go, we draw pink princess dresses whenever we can. She is so happy when she sees something pink, it’s so adorable. The only non-pink thing that has a pass in our home is Elsa from Frozen :)
The idea for pink pancakes was born from this worship of my daughter’s. I love seeing a smile on her face, so I decided to surprise her with pink pancakes for breakfast. I struggled with ideas, since I didn’t want to use food coloring. My thorough search took me to MyGreatRecipes where I found a bunch of amazing and creative ideas.

I must confess, I didn't make this bread :)
This is not really a recipe but it is definitely something delish which I would like to share. It is super easy to assemble and I find it very yummy. With oregano spice, I added with finely grated Parmesan Cheese on a butter spread sweet bread roll. This bread is actually an American Hot Dog bread roll. Then bake it slightly and viola!

- 1 cup 250 mL all purpose flour
- 1 cup 250 mL oats
- 1 cup (250 mL) granulated sugar
- 4 tsp (20 mL) baking powder
- 1 tsp (4 mL) salt
- ½ tsp (2 mL) nugmeg
- 4 tsp (8 mL) cocoa powder
- 1 cup (250 mL) fresh bananas
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup (250 mL) milk
- ½ cup (100 mL) butter
- Step 1In a large bowl, combine barley flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, oats, salt, cinnamon and bananas.
- Step 2In a small bowl, lightly beat eggs; stir in milk and butter and pour into the flour mixture.
- Step 3Stir until just combined.
- Step 4Fill 12 lightly greased or paper-lined medium muffin cups almost full.
- Step 5Bake in 400⁰F (200⁰C) oven for 18 minutes or until the centre springs back when lightly touched.
- The uniqueness of this muffin is the usage of Barley Flour. I've also made some small ones, the only difference is spoon a teaspoon-sized of the mixture and use a small muffin paper-lined cups. Adjust the baking time to about 11 minutes. I must tell you this recipe is not so sweet. Hence if you like a sweet version, you can add more granulated sugar, up to 1 cup.

- Step 6Bake for 11 minutes until cookies are just barely turning brown.
- Step 7All to cool completely before eating (though it is very hard to resist).
We made this today and it was really really yummy! The cookie cutters are from my daughter's Godma and they just arrived via airmail from Singapore! Noticed that I added 5 cups of flour instead of 4 cups and 2 tablespoons. I found the dough as indicated on the original recipe was too soft and hard to handle with these cute cookie cutter even after chilling it for 1 hour. However, I really love this recipe which was passed down through the generations of many an American family and I read that this one is from Sally. This sugared cookie recipe was adapted from Pioneer Woman

Do you really need a recipe for French Toast? Actually yes and no.
This is such a classic and easy breakfast item. I don't think I ever learn to make it from any recipe book. From young in my childhood, French toast on a Sunday breakfast is like a real treat. My uncle will normally be the one to cook it. And since he is a natural, self-taught cook, by looking at the basic steps, it was easy to whip up my own French toast. Anyway, I thought I like to highlight the recipe from Nigella Lawson and the ingredients as follows:
- 2 large eggs
- 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ cup whole milk
- 4 slices white bread (from small loaf or 2 slices from large loaf) each slice cut in half triangles
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 drop flavourless vegetable oil for frying
- ¼ cup superfine sugar
METHOD
Beat the eggs with the milk and vanilla in a wide, shallow bowl.
Soak the bread halves in the eggy mixture for *5 (actually 30 seconds is enough) minutes a side.
Heat the butter and oil in a frying pan, and fry the egg-soaked bread until golden and scorched in parts on both sides.
To me this is really optional: *Put the sugar on a plate and then dip the cooked bread in it until coated like a sugared doughnut.

- 1/4 cup whole milk, heated to 45 deg C
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 70grams cheese, finely shredded
- 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 300g pork cracklings
- Topping
- 1 egg yolk
- 30grams cheese, finely shredded
- Step 1In a large bowl, combine milk, yeast and sugar. Let mixture stand for 10 minutes.
- Step 2Add flour, cheese, salt, egg, butter and sour cream to yeast mixture. Mix til dough comes together, smooth and not sticky.
- Step 3Roll dough 1/2 inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Make a shallow cross-hatched pattern with tip of sharp knife over the top of the dough. Brush with egg yolk. Sprinkle cheese and pork cracklings on top.
- Step 4Cut out rounds with a 1 to 1.5 inch cutter.
- Step 5Arrange circles in rows at 1/4 inch apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Step 6Put pan in a cold oven, set to 205 deg C and bake for 25 minutes. Until pogacsa are nicely browned on tops and bottoms.
- Step 7Let it cool completely and (optional to store in airtight container).
- *It can be frozen up to 1 month. Thaw and reheat at 100 deg C for 20 minutes.
We can easily buy scones with pork cracklings in any parts of Hungary. In a sense, I don't usually have to make it. It is a relatively easy to make pastry and many people like it. As a snack, tea break snacks, finger food for parties etc. Children loves it. I realised the British/English versions of Scones are usually sweet, while the these Hungarian scones are savoury. My husband prefers the savoury version. The original of this recipe yield 5 dozens. In fact, I got a shock seeing it as it will mean 60 pogacsa-s, and that is really too much. This recipe has its ingredients halved and I've added the pork cracklings which to be honest, it made the whole lot of difference!
